Autumn Ember™ is a sweet crabappple with no perceivable acid making this a winner for attracting deer all fall. Tree vigor and disease resistance are extremely high making for a "set and forget" food plot tree. Growing with a horizontal branching structure, the mother tree is littered with scrapes underneath as soon as the crabs start dropping in October.
Autumn Ember™ Crabapple
- mother tree bears October to December in Mechanicsburg, PA
- disease resistant
- very vigorous
- heavy bearing
- Zone 4 hardy
- all sugar, no acid
- Turkeys love this one too
- this is a grafted tree onto full standard seedling rootstock
Autumn Ember™ is the second most favorite tree I grow. An Autumn Ember™ November Napalm™ duo is like a Brady and Gronk combo during hunting season.
*This is a grafted tree on full standard seedling apple rootstock, chosen specifically to grow the tree as fast and large as possible. If there was a more vigorous rootstock out there, I would use it.
