-Redfield apple grows well for growers in Pennsylvania and anywhere north of PA. I would not plant Redfield much more south than Pennsylvania, as I have heard reports of fungal infections wrecking the leaves.
-Drop time starts in the beginning of November and somewhat into December. Redfield is resistant to fireblight and apple scab. This apple would be perfect if the sugar content was higher to combat the high acidity.
*This is a grafted tree on full standard seedling apple rootstock, chosen specifically to grow the tree as fast and large as possible. If there was a more vigorous rootstock out there, I would use it.
